Day to Night Style

I love putting together pieces that are comfy enough to wear during the day but can also be dressed up to wear out at night too. In the age of social media, most of us girls feel that we can only wear something once, especially if it's been uploaded to facebook. I'm not sure where this mindset has stemmed from and although it might seem a bit extreme and ridiculous sometimes we like to keep up appearances online... It's times like these that I feel glad to be a bargain  hunter!

I wanted to show you how I style basics, jeans and a bodysuit from Miss Selfridge, to take the look from casual to evening wear.

A simple pair of canvas trainers is all you need to make this outfit look casual. I would also add a leather jacket if it's cold outside and a fringed bag from Primark/Penneys if I'm going shopping.

Going Out

To make this outfit more dressy I've added pointed heels, a straight line blazer and a pair of statement earrings.I would also style this with a clutch bag to house all my essentials when I'm out and about. Although this look has a very laid back vibe, it is still dressy enough to wear if you're going out for dinner or to a bar.

What are your day to night essentials?

I previously posted the pictures of my Miss Selfridge Lookbook in a previous post and wanted to share the video with you all! This is the first one I've done and although I have a long way to go in terms of filming and editing, I am really proud of this.

I hope you enjoy it!

Summer Lookbook - Miss Selfridge Edition

On Monday I had the privilege of styling four outfits from the current Miss Selfridge range and shooting a Lookbook in the Radisson Blu Hotel Letterkenny. It has been a few months since I had a browse in a Miss Selfridge store and to say I found it tough to style just four outfits would be an understatement! I was completely enamoured by the eclectic mix of boho chic, 70s glam, white on white and casual festival pieces and it heavily influenced my final style picks.

I don't believe style has to be complex therefore Jumpsuits are an ideal wardrobe staple. They don't require much styling and are so easy to throw on if you have last minute plans whether it requires you to be dressy or casual. I paired this cut-out 70s floral print Jumpsuit with tan heels from Penneys and classic gold hoop earrings.

I'm not a trend slave but one of my favourites from this season is the white on white look with a boho twist. It has such a minimalistic and clean vibe to it which is so easy to achieve. All you need to do is keep the outfit all white and to add some boho chic pair it with a long feathery necklace, stacked bangles and strappy platforms.

My third look is my favourite from the Lookbook regardless of the fact it reminds me of Austin Powers? I love layering so putting the striped blouse under the button up denim dress instantly adds a bit of an edge. I wore the same strappy platforms as above and kept the jewellery simple with plain silver hoops.

Last but not least is by far the most dressy of the four outfits. A white playsuit that again does not require much styling. It is a lovely tailored fit and the gold belt further cinches the waist in. I went for a pointy nude heel to give it a more sleek and polished feel and chose vintage style statement earrings to compliment the gold belt.

All outfits can be found on or in store Letterkenny! Which one would you chose?

OOTD: The Cape

I am loving Capes at the minute. Extremely comfy, warm and add an instant edge to a casual outfit. This cape reminds me of the Burberry Monogram ones & the whole outfit is from Miss Selfridge.

Match made in Heaven : Co Ords

Co Ordinates or "Co Ords"  have been on the scene for a  few seasons now. Bold prints and bright colours in shorts & box top styles aswel as midi skirts & crop top combos were dominant in spring/summer. Although these can still be worn in winter by pairing with tights, boots & chunky knits; Suits are deeming to be popular for the party season. I can see this continuing to be big for another few seasons yet. So trendy & so easy to throw together- the perfect last minute outfit!
Below are some of my favourite Co Ords from Missguided & Suits from Topshop:

Missguided L-R:
Geo Contrast Crop Top & Geo Contrast Cigarette Trousers
Floral Scuba Top & Floral Scuba Midi Skirt
Gingham Bralet & Gingham Full Midi Skirt

Woman Crush Wednesday #2 : Ashley Madekwe

Actress & fashion blogger Ashley has a very laid back and effortless approach to style and always looks immaculately put together.

Below is a look that Ashley posted recently to her blog and I have found some high street pieces to recreate this outfit. Sequins win me over everytime and I love how easy it is make such an embellished piece of clothing look casual. This dress can be worn with barely there heels and a clutch to translate to night time wear.

Woman Crush Wednesday #1 : Marion Cotillard

French actress Marion Cotillard's style is a mixture of feminine, understated, structured, demure and bold.
I think its important to find inspiration in the celeb and media filled world and adapt it to your own style preferences.
The following combination of monochrome with bursts of red and orange immediately caught my eye and below is a selection of items that I would personally wear to recreate the look.

Contrast Square Bodycon Skirt:
Aztec Crop Top:
Red Leather Croc Clutch:
Red Point Heels:
Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon:
